KL Rahul Creates IPL History Despite DC Collapse
Delhi Capitals got off to a good start after being asked to bat first. KKR pacers struggled in the powerplay as KL Rahul looked good and blasted a few classy boundaries early on.
In his brief innings, Rahul set an IPL record by scoring 1000 runs for three different franchises in the tournament’s unaided history. But Kolkata got the full momentum when he was dismissed.
Kartik Tyagi, who was on 14th over of the innings, looked for an acceleration against him, but mistimed his shot to be comfortably caught by Cameron Green. Under scoreboard pressure, though, Delhi’s middle-order collapsed badly after his wicket.
Delhi Capitals Batting Collapse Hurts Team Again
With the bat, Delhi Capitals again floundered in the middle overs. Not building partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals, the batting is to blame.
DC Batting Scorecard

| KL Rahul | 23 | 19 |
| Pathum Nissanka | 31 | 24 |

| Sunil Narine | 4 | 1 |
| Kartik Tyagi | 4 | 2 |
| Anukul Roy | 4 | 2 |

Sunil Narine’s economical spell played a huge role in restricting Delhi to just 142 runs.
Finn Allen’s Destructive Century Stuns Delhi Crowd
KKR’s chase started aggressively despite an early wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. Enter the storm known as Finn Allen
The batting of Finn Allen utterly obliterated Delhi’s attack with daring severity around the ground. Every time a pacer or spin bowler came the Kiwi batters attacked, never allowing any of the DC bowlers to settle.
Allen was ruthless with his big hits against Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam, making it a one-sided contest.
Finn Allen Match-Winning Knock
| Runs | Balls | Fours | Sixes | Strike Rate |
| 100* | 47 | 5 | 10 | 212+ |
He also ended up getting off to a cracker for his maiden IPL-century and finished not out.
Cameron Green Provides Perfect Support
At the other end, Cameron Green played his role to perfection. The chase did not have any other hiccups then, courtesy his clinical unbeaten knock.
Delhi lost all hope due to the partnership between Green and Allen.
KKR Strengthen Playoff Chances
This became the fourth successive win for KKR in IPL 2026 and raised their playoff hopes big time.
Elsewhere, in the third match of the day, Delhi Capitals were left in a precarious position after suffering yet another disappointing home loss. Their jagged batting has to deal the blow in major scores versus ball because they fail to address pressure matches.
Plain and simple, if KKR play anywhere near this level of aggression with that confidence going into the IPL 2026 playoffs, they could be one of the most dangerous teams right now.
